The XDSI_NS project was launched in response to the growing need for more comprehensive, secure, and interoperable cross-border health data exchange within the European Union. It aims to expand the existing MyHealth@EU infrastructure by introducing new digital services that enable the exchange of additional types of clinical information.
The project seeks to strengthen cooperation among Member States while ensuring that patients can benefit from continuous and high-quality healthcare when receiving treatment abroad. By enhancing access to critical health information across borders, XDSI_NS contributes to improved patient safety, clinical decision-making, and overall efficiency of healthcare systems.
The project’s objectives are aligned with the European Union’s strategic priorities in digital health, particularly the development of the European Health Data Space and the reinforcement of cross-border healthcare services. In this context, XDSI_NS directly supports the implementation of EU-level initiatives aimed at improving interoperability, fostering innovation in healthcare delivery, and promoting the widespread adoption of digital health solutions across Member States.
Overall Objective
The overall objective of the project is to expand Hungary’s existing MyHealth@EU services by deploying four additional cross-border health document types through the Hungarian National Contact Point for eHealth (NCPeH). The project strengthens secure, interoperable health data exchange within the European Union and contributes to the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
Specific Objectives
- Design, implement and deploy the four new cross-border services within the Hungarian NCPeH Gateway.
- Ensure technical, semantic, legal and organisational interoperability with MyHealth@EU requirements.
- Complete compliance checks, production testing and obtain EU-level approval for go-live.
- Ensure sustainable 24/7 service operation, monitoring and maintenance after deployment.
- Promote awareness, education and stakeholder engagement regarding cross-border health data exchange.
