What does MyHealth@EU enable?
ePrescription and eDispensation
Hungarian ePrescriptions can be dispensed in participating EU Member States. This is particularly beneficial during extended stays abroad, employment, or unexpected situations.
Patient Summary
Healthcare professionals abroad can access essential health information, such as allergies, chronic conditions, and current medications. In emergency situations, this information can be life-saving.
Laboratory Results and Reports
The cross-border exchange of laboratory results helps avoid duplicate testing, accelerates diagnosis, and improves patient safety.
Hospital Discharge Reports and Medical Imaging
In the near future, it will also be possible to share hospital discharge reports, as well as medical imaging studies and reports, further supporting continuity of care.
Harmonised European Data Exchange
MyHealth@EU is built on common European standards that enable national health systems to communicate seamlessly. In each country, the connection is managed by the National Contact Point for eHealth (NCPeH).
Why does it matter?
• Faster and more accurate healthcare abroad
• Reduced administrative burden for patients and healthcare professionals
• Lower risk of medical errors and inappropriate treatment
• Secure and regulated data exchange
• A key building block of Europe’s future health data ecosystem
